Moody, Harry Potter-Inspired Wedding at The Woodshed in Vista, Ca | Brenda + Cody
When I first started chatting with Brenda + Cody, they had mentioned being Harry Potter fans and wanting to add some inspired details to their reception...what I didn't know was that they would get beautifully carried away and create the most magical and moody reception.
The hard part about designing anything inspired by a well-known theme is the possibility of it ending up being kitschy or just a bit underwhelming....it takes incredible design work and attention to detail to pull off a themed decor that looks natural, and honestly effortless. And DAMN did they do it!
Absolutely every vendor involved had the best time bringing their vision to life, and as I walked around photographing details I was able to truly see the care and attention that Brenda + Cody put into create a space that felt truly like a celebration of themselves (plenty of which came from emptying out their own home decor...hah!)
The desserts and pre-pizza treats were put together by Twin Treats.
Let me tell you...If the presentation and treats themselves didn't have me absolutely swooning over these displays (which holy cow...SO DELICIOUS...they did!), watching Amy work and hearing the care put into every selection + decision made sure did. Seriously...look at the care and intentionality, down to the adorable, tiny apples and funky, "ugly" carrots....I'm in love!
These incredible custom- made table numbers and collection of eclectic vases were put together by Caitlyn from Soil + Soul. She has an incredible eye for texture + color that created stunning, unforgettable table-scapes and detailing.
My biggest shoutout goes to the beautiful Kimberly, from Kim + Crew Events. She is one of my absolute favorite coordinators/designers to work with. She cares so deeply for her clients and puts her entire heart into bringing their unique vision's to life. From start to finish she carries the most peaceful and "on it" presence with her. I always say that the best coordinators are under appreciated, because you'll never see all of work they do and the fires they put out, and Kim does so with absolute grace.
Brenda + Cody did their wedding their own way. Instead of a large event with a ten hour timeline, they chose to have an intimate courthouse ceremony and followed it with this beautiful reception for friends + family to come enjoy + celebrate. Weddings are YOUR day to celebrate your new union + your new family...there is no "right way" to do it, and I love when couples feel confident in straying away from the traditions that don't serve them and tailoring their celebration uniquely to their priorities. This day was so joyful and I am so glad that I was able to be apart of celebrating and documenting it <3
